Sauvage by Christian Dior for Men

Quick Overview

Sauvage for Men is a fragrance by Christian Dior, launched in 2015. Created by perfumer François Demachy, even though its name originates from the fragrance Eau Sauvage from 1966, they have no obvious scent relation. This patchouli-amber mixture with herbal and metallic notes is inspired by hot deserts, open spaces and blue skies with rocky landscapes.
The first impression is of sharp citrus peels followed by Bergamot pepperiness, accented by elemi. The best part of Sauvage is the contrast between the bright aromatic top notes and the woody-ambery drydown. Radically fresh, raw and noble at the same time, this composition is reportedly prevalent with carefully selected natural ingredients.

Longevity: 8 to10 hours which is great of a freshy

    Compliments: 10/10 Amazing
All in all i think this is a great fragrance

This one was love at first sniff! I was on a sniffing spree at Paris Gallery in UAE, and this was newly launched at that time. I had heard the love , hate reviews and I decided to try this one. Wow, This has very beautiful citrus opening with burst of freshness and Dior Class. This is definitely my go to scent when I want to smell fresh and classy. I am yet to find someone who had smelled this on me and didn't like it. Its suitable for casual evenings, Office, parties and pretty much everything. Very versatile scent and good performance too. Stays for about 8 plus hours on skin and may be for 24 hours plus on fabric. Projects for first 1.5 to 2 hours and then starts staying close to your skin. Overall rating 9/10.

  3. Suberb opening, and headache inducing drydown review by Adeeb on 7/24/2016

I have a love/hate relationship with Sauvage. The opening is sparkling bright with the citrus and ambroxan, but this barely lasts an hour. After that the drydown is so heavy on the ambroxan that it smells really generic and acidic on my skin.
This perfume surely does smell better on clothes than on my skin. The longevity and projection are far above average.
I've received no major compliments as yet, in that department Bleu de Chanel does wonders.
    Here's my verdict:
    Smell: Opening 10/10, Drydown 4/10
    Projection: 9/10
    Longevity: 8/10
    Compliments: 5/10
