This is an amazing scent with beastly performance and longevity. So far Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille was the most long lasting scent in my collection. But this one out ran tobacco vanille by several miles. You wont believe, It lasted on paper for 2 weeks. On skin it lasts over 8 hours
The opening of the scent is a bit harsh, give it 2 minutes and allow it to dry down. Then u start to smell luxury.
Smell : Unique, Luxourious, elegant, head turner
Longevity & Silage : Monsterous
Value for money : Thumps up
Presentation : This is how a niche perfume should be presented. It is far better that the Tom Ford's box
1st thing first.. not all perfumes work slimier on every one. I am writing this review based on how this perfume acts on me.
2nd I am new to Neich and this is my 1st Neich perfume
- The first five min as soon as you apply this perfume is not so great as it hits you hard with its sweetness, then the sweetness suppresses a little and the lovely Leather come over with floral notes, I love leather but not a great fan of floral. The leather continues till the end and i just love it...
Overall a very good perfume, sillage is heavy for the first few hours and then softens quite a bit. Longevity is not beastly on me it stays a good 6-8 hours.
Things to highlight: I am from Chennai and i always purchase my perfumes at Parcos. i was always afraid of purchasing perfumes online as i would doubt on the authenticity. But from now on all my perfume purchases would be done online in Projekt Perfumery. in short their tag line "CHANGE THE WAY YOU EVER BOUGHT PERFUMES IN INDIA!" is very true!!!
A really nice leather frag. The initial blast upon first spray is kind of harsh for the first 10 minutes or so and then it settles down beautifully. The raspberry and saffron kick in mingling with the suede and leather mostly. I think the mid notes listed on fragrantica are incomplete because there is definitely a frankincense note in it that gives it a smokey flavor.Actually, even more than leather, this is a raspberry suede frag. Very high quality ingredients, but kinda rough around the edges when compared to say a Tom Ford or Serge Lutens but I think that gives it it's own unique personality. Excellent 10 hours plus longevity and good projection for most of it's scent life. If you are fussy about getting the best you can get for this type of frag, get Tuscan Leather. It is more polished overall. Otherwise get La Yuqawam and use the10,000 rupees you save to buy other stuff. Cooler weather frag for sure. unless you are in an air conditioned room, it gets too heavy in the summer day. . If you like leather notes and can get your mitts on this one, pick it up blindly. It's a no brainer. Love it. 8.5/10
PS I forgot to mention, it comes in a nice wooden case with a magnetic cap. A lovely extra touch.
2 sprays, and I'm set for the day.
Notes as per fragrantica -
Top - thyme, raspberry, Saffron
Middle - Jasmine, olibanum, artemisia
Base - leather, amber, suede, woody notes.
The opening is slightly harsh, with a lot of sweetness and something else. Something which my nose can feel, but my mind cannot decipher - it's smoky, and feels like something is burning nearby, not in a bad way, but the sensation is similar.
The sweetness, I misinterpreted as rose, is blended very well with this smokey vibe and after 8 hrs when I expected this to tone down, I started smelling it in every breath. It's getting louder. And more prominent. And somewhere in between this evolution, leather has kicked in.
I won't say that I've loved it, as I've been puzzled since morning if I've sprayed the wrong perfume, but now it's more obvious, I've not. But it's good, and is developing pretty well.
Maybe I'd give it couple more wearings and then will be able to appreciate its complexity, or decide that it's not for me. But today I won't be able to do so.
Performance is pretty great though I've to say. 2 sprays, 9 hrs and still pretty good.
So for longevity, I'd rate it 10/10.
Agree with Kanak's review completely - the 'rough around the edges' bit is in my opinion due to the emphasis on the raspberry note which appears out of nowhere just when you think you're only left with that c*qai*e leather goodness. The frankincense note is obviously present, just referred to in its other name - Olibanum.
There is one, just one area where this fragrance shines beyond Tuscan leather, and that is in this slightly stronger raspberry note that makes it a little more wearable/versatile (depending on how one looks at it). It's Tuscan Leather's slightly more immature younger brother, which is slightly irrelevant considering the entire family is God damned dark (and do we love them for it).
